Project Aurora has adopted a multidimensional calendar known as the Auroran Calendar. The Auroran Calendar year consists of 384 Days, each month is exactly 32 Days long, and each week has 8 days (Aurorday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday). The days of the week are named after the seven classical planets and with Aurorday being named after the Roman Goddess of the Dawn. The months are named after the twelve signs of the zodiac, with the first month being named after the sign that the sun is in at the start of the year.

The Auroran Calendar is a more efficient calendar than the Gregorian Calendar for a few reasons. For one, the months are all equal in length so there is no need to adjust the number of days in a month (as we do with February). This makes it easier to plan events and schedule appointments. Additionally, each week has 8 days which allows for more consistent scheduling and leaves room for flexibility (for example, if you have an appointment on Tuesday but it gets canceled, you can easily reschedule it for the following Tuesday without having to worry about what day of the week it falls on). Finally, the days of the week are named after classical planets and zodiac signs which makes them easy to remember and eliminates any confusion that might occur when trying to figure out what day it is.

Auroran Calendar (Yearly-View)

While it may be more efficient than the Gregorian Calendar, at the end of the day it is still an artificial construct that has been created for the convenience of businesses and organizations. There is no natural or cosmic reason for why the year should be 384 days long or why there should be 8 days in a week. These are simply arbitrary decisions that have been made in order to make scheduling and planning easier. Therefore, while the Auroran Calendar may be a more efficient way of keeping track of time, it is ultimately just another man-made system that we have created to make our lives simpler.
